Historic Walker Lake District

The Historic Walker Lake District is a newly revitalized area in St. Louis Park, centered around the intersection of Walker St. and Lake St.

Exterior of Historic Walker Lake building

A highlight of the area is the historic Walker Building, the oldest commercial building in St. Louis Park. Built in 1892, it’s now the home of sota clothing.

Visitors to the area will delight in the murals lining the west side of the building. Stop and have your picture taken with Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox or the “You Betcha We Love It Here” Instagram-worthy photo station, whose surrounding décor changes with the season. Be sure to show off your newly purchased, distinctly Minnesotan, sota swag!

Grab a bite to eat at one of the neighborhood restaurants, get a massage or have your hair done. You can even pamper your favorite furry friend!

Before you leave, stop by the amazing 1,500 sq. ft. mural on the south side of the Minneapolis Window Shade building, located at the corner of Walker St. and Dakota Ave. The mural depicts the past, present and future of this vibrant area.
