A Family Landmark With a Legacy

The Park Tavern has been a landmark in St. Louis Park for nearly 60 years. This family-friendly destination offers bowling lanes, arcade games & billiards, plus a restaurant & bar.

Ben Weber bought Park Tavern on September 27, 1957. Having spent many years on the road selling women’s outerwear, he decided it was time to be home with his family. Although he knew nothing about the restaurant business, he had a tireless work ethic and the Park Tavern grew to become the #1 seller of 3.2 tap beer in the state of Minnesota. In 1970, Ben’s son and current owner, Phil, came to work with him at Park Tavern. Nine years later, the City of St. Louis Park decided to widen Louisiana Avenue forcing Park Tavern to relocate. The new location gave them the opportunity to feature food, spirits and bowling in a 30,000 sq ft building. With the move, Ben’s daughter, Diane, also joined the business. Ben passed away over 30 years, but Park Tavern continues to thrive as a dining and entertainment fixture in the Twin Cities.

Dining

Known for their award-winning burgers and made-to-order pizzas, The Park Tavern offers family-friendly fare in a casual setting. Start with cheese curds or fried pickles, then grab a sandwich with tater tots, fish & chips or one of the nightly specials. The main dining room features wall-to-wall TV screens, perfect for cheering on your favorite team.

In summer, join them on the patio for bocce ball and cornhole and seating for up to 150, including furry friends.

On the weekends, they’ll “bowl” you over with their breakfast menu. Their signature breakfast pizza features garlic cream sauce, fontina and mozzarella cheese, with bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and hashbrown potatoes—all drizzled with Hollandaise sauce. Other classic dishes include omelets, eggs benedict, huevos rancheros, pancakes, French toast and Belgian waffles. Add a Bloody Mary or a mimosa. Breakfast is served Saturday and Sunday from 8 am – 12 pm.

Their 11th Frame “Midwest Made” Bar is a favorite for guests looking for bar games, darts, pool and more. A favorite with the locals, especially for late-night happy hour.

Games & Arcade

After bowling a few frames, head into the 11th Frame Bar, where you’ll find a collection of vintage arcade games. Play Lord of the Rings and AC/DC pinball. Help Ms. Pac-Man defeat the ghosts, play Donkey Kong and Mario Brothers, and send the puck flying in air hockey. You’ll also find a pool table and five electronic dart boards. They even offer league play through AAA Dart Leagues. Back in the main bowling area, you’ll find a second mini arcade with over 10 games like Hammerhead (think Whac-A-Mole, but with sharks!) and the Claw, plus a full prize machine. It’s a true family favorite!
