Fall Fashion Fun

Who says you need to be a kid, or even a student, to go “back-to-school” shopping? Discover some of the latest new & “new-to-you” fall fashions in Minnesota’s Sweet Spot.

Get ready to shop ‘til you drop with a morning caffeine boost from Triple D Espresso in Golden Valley. This family-owned coffee shop roasts a fresh batch of beans every week, ensuring your coffee is high quality and full of flavor. Want an espresso macchiato or a chai latte? They’ve got you covered. Enjoy it with one of their homemade muffins or scones. You might even want to bring home a bag or two of your favorite beans to enjoy later!

Fueled for the day, head next door to Mainstream Boutique. The store carries a unique, multigenerational product assortment so that everyone can find something stylish and trendy.  You’ll especially love their exclusive Mac and Me denim line, as well as their tops, jackets and jewelry.  Bonus: they get new arrivals all the time.

Then it’s off to the West End for the latest fashion staples from Anthropologie and Evereve. Experience modern and versatile clothing with just the right amount of edge. Later, when life gets busy, give Evereve’s Trendsend program a try: a stylist will curate 2-3 hand-selected looks for you that you can pick-up in store or have delivered to your home. Simply keep the pieces you love and return the rest.

For lunch, the West End offers several delicious dining options – all with patios to make the most of a beautiful fall day. CRAVE American Kitchen & Sushi Bar is a contemporary eatery serving vibrant American cuisine and the freshest sushi, while Rojo Mexican Grill offers modern and traditional Mexican dishes, as well as killer margaritas. You might also like The Loop for their salads and sandwiches, Yard House for their made-from-scratch classic dishes, and Raku Sushi & Lounge for their Japanese cuisine fused with French, Italian and other Asian influences. So many choices, so many delicious dishes!

Next it’s off to Judith McGrann & Friends, a boutique filled with unique finds, including clothes, jewelry, bags, scarves, socks, gifts, cards and trinkets. The collections change seasonally, with styles for varied body types in all price ranges. Across the street, in the heart of Excelsior & Grand, you’ll find Max’s, a woman-owned contemporary boutique featuring an eclectic selection of artisan jewelry, hand-blown glass pieces, chocolates, and gift items. Pick up some new bling for yourself and do some early holiday shopping for friends and family.

Walk two blocks north and discover two delightful discount clothing stores: Opitz Outlet and The Annex by Opitz. For over 20 years, Opitz has been selling men’s and women’s designer clothing, shoes, handbags and accessories at 70% off retail. Shhhh – the stores have long been considered the Twin Cities’ best kept secret!

For the ultimate thriftshop experience, make sure you stop by Rodeo Drive. This upscale consignment boutique has been in business for nearly 40 years and offers a fabulous selection of designer clothing and accessories at affordable prices. They have clients from across the country who send them items to consign, providing you with access to some of THE most fashionable closets.

After a day of hardcore shopping, why not treat yourself to some pampering? Hand & Stone Massage & Facial Spa offers an array of services, from facials to hot stone and Himalayan salt massages. Lie back, relax, and know that you’re in good hands.

End your day with dinner at Mill Valley Kitchen, a refined farm-to-table eatery offering California-inspired cuisine and cocktails. The focus is fresh, feel-good food, with a menu that changes seasonally and can accommodate a variety of dietary needs. They offer a fantastic variety of wine from California and across the globe, as well as local tap beers and signature cocktails. Non-alcoholic options include house made ginger beer and kombucha on tap.
