5. Schaper Park Challenge Course

We challenge you to a race! Head over to Golden Valley’s Schaper Park and their ninja warrior-style obstacle course. Designed for kids ages 13 and up, the course offers an exhilarating challenge that will test their agility and strength. Participants navigate over, under, around and through as they race against the clock. Although it’s designed for tweens and teens, the course will capture the interest of younger siblings too! Plus, there is a fully accessible playground for the littles to enjoy.

6. Theodore Wirth Regional Park

Escape to the heart of nature at Theodore Wirth Regional Park, where families can embark on miles of hiking trails, explore the Quaking Bog and the Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden & Bird Sanctuary, or hit the mountain biking trails for an adrenaline-packed adventure. (Rental bikes are available at The Trailhead.) It’s an oasis of outdoor excitement for every member of the family.

7. Park Tavern

Roll a strike and create lasting family memories at Park Tavern Bowling & Entertainment Center. Beyond the bowling and arcade games, enjoy a full-service restaurant offering kid’s meal favorites such as cheeseburgers, chicken fingers, mac & cheese, pizza, and more. 9. ShowPlace ICON Theatre & Twin Cities Film Fest

10. Ice Skating at The Rec Center & The ROC

It’s never too early for some frozen fun. Grab your skates and go for a spin around the ice at the Rec Center. They have indoor skating on M – W – F, plus Saturdays and Sundays. Or enjoy the fresh air at the ROC, our covered outdoor rink, on Friday evening or on the weekend. Rental skates are available for just $3.

11. Angel Food Bakery and Donut Bar

Indulge your taste buds at Angel Food Bakery, where sweet dreams come true! Although not officially an attraction, you can watch the bakers in action at one of the coolest donut shops in town. Treat the family to delectable pastries, creative confections, and mouthwatering treats that are sure to satisfy every sweet tooth. Parents will enjoy the full array of coffee drinks that will perk them up for further adventes. Want more of a challenge? 12. Great Pumpkin Festival – Saturday, October 21, 10 am – 1 pm

Join the festivities at the Great Pumpkin Festival hosted by the Shops at West End and the Twin Cities Road Crew. This free family-friendly event brings a spooktacular day of fun with trick or treating at select retail locations, Halloween-themed music, games, and prizes. Don your favorite costumes and enjoy a bouncy house, crafts, free balloons, a tattoo station, a themed photo booth, and so much more!
