From festivals to the great outdoors, St. Louis Park and Golden Valley are Minnesota’s sweet spot for fall fun. Bring your family and friends and check out these great activities!
Now in its 16th year, this annual fall festival, held under the water tower in Golden Valley, offers a full day of fun for the entire family. The event features a parade, art fair, lawn games, kids activities, food trucks, beer and wine, and lots of live music. Saturday, September 14, 9 am – 10 pm.
ROCtoberfest is an all-ages event held at the St. Louis Park’s covered Recreation Outdoor Center (ROC). Get in the Oktoberfest spirit with live polka-style music. Other entertainment includes German-themed contests, like stein holding and a “Thump the Stump” game, plus Minnesota favorites like cornhole. German and domestic beer will be available for purchase, along with eats from local food trucks. Saturday, September 28, 2 – 8 p.m.
The 2nd Annual St. Louis Park Art Fair will showcase 70 MN artists selling their handmade items, including jewelry, ceramics, paintings, and much more. Grab a bite to eat from one of the local food trucks and take part in a community art project. Saturday, September 14, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., at the ROC.
If you have little boys and ghouls, you’ll want to check out the Halloween party at the Rec Center on October 18 & 19. Come in costume and be ready to boo-gie down! Advance registration is required.
For more free family fun, head to The Shoppes at Knollwood on October 26. Trick or treat, get a free pumpkin, and dance to live music.

Head to the ROC in St. Louis Park for family movie night. Bring your own blankets and chairs, cuddle up, and watch a family-friendly flick. Admission is free and concessions will be available. September 26 – Wonder. October 3 – Incredibles 2. Movies start at 7:00 p.m.
Celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Twin Cities Film Fest at the ShowPlace ICON Theater in St. Louis Park. Held October 16-26, the festival celebrates the talent and artistry of independent filmmakers in the Twin Cities, with over 120 films being screened, from shorts to documentaries to feature films. A variety of ticket options will be available.
Having recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, Brookview is the perfect place for a fall golf outing. Walk among rolling hills, tree-lined fairways, and numerous ponds as you play 18 holes on the regulation course or 9 holes on the par 3 course. Or try lawn bowling on one of their 8 rink. Enjoy more than 3 miles of trails and walkways offering ample birdwatching and wildlife spotting, including deer, turtles, fox, mink and owls. Rent a canoe and take in the fall foliage while you explore Westwood Lake or visit the live animals at the Interpretive Center.
