Virtual MinnesoThai Food and Culture Festival
Jun 14 at 10:00 am - 3:00 pmFree
The Thai Cultural Council of Minnesota is excited to bring a taste of Thai culture to you during quarantine! The first annual MinnesoThai Festival will be held on Sunday, June 14 from 10am – 3pm. MinnesoThai is a celebration of the rich traditions of Minnesotan and Southeast Asian cultures. This year due to COVID-19, the majority of the event will be brought to you virtually via Facebook Live. The event will include blessings from the Wat Promwachirayan monks, speeches from community leaders, traditional Thai dance performances, and favorites like the Papaya Salad Eating Contest, Royal MinnesoThai Contest, and of course, their Thai street food all with a virtual twist! Food and goods will be available for purchase with same-day curbside pick-up at Wat Promwachirayan Buddhist Temple in St. Louis Park, also known as Wat Thai of Minnesota.
Attend this free event for a global experience and taste a fusion of flavors in a Thai Hot Dish, participate in a Zoom Thai folk dance, watch a cooking demonstration on authentic Thai food, and cheer on the brave competitors of a virtual papaya salad eating contest!
